MAZDA REMAPPING

ECU remapping for Mazda Skyactiv-D diesel models, carried out at your home or workplace.

Mazda's 2.2 Skyactiv-D diesel in the CX-5 and Mazda6 is turbocharged and responds well to a remap, mostly as stronger mid-range torque. Most Mazda Skyactiv-G petrols are not turbocharged, so the gain from software alone is much smaller, and that is said plainly when you enquire. The 2.2 Skyactiv-D uses a two-stage turbo setup and is common in family SUVs and estates that tow or cover high mileage, which is where the extra torque is most useful. Diesels that do mainly short trips should have their DPF in good health first, so mention any warning lights when you enquire.

Mazda Remapping questions answered

Can a Mazda CX-5 be remapped?

The 2.2 Skyactiv-D diesel responds well. Non-turbo petrol versions gain much less, so send the registration and engine for honest advice.

Is it worth remapping a non-turbo Mazda petrol?

Usually not much. Without a turbo, there is no boost to adjust, so the gain from a remap alone is small.

Will a remap help my Mazda CX-5 tow?

On the 2.2 diesel it can make towing feel easier, with stronger mid-range pulling on hills. It does not change the legal towing limit on the vehicle plate.
