STAGE 1 REMAP

Optimise the factory ECU calibration to improve power, torque, throttle response and overall driveability.

Stage 1 remapping works within the factory hardware to safely improve how a standard vehicle drives. Remap Man reviews the vehicle, engine and ECU before tuning, and gains vary by vehicle and mechanical condition.

Remap Man offers mobile stage 1 remapping from Swadlincote, covering customers within around 20 miles, including Burton upon Trent, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Coalville, Tamworth, Derby and Lichfield. Send your registration, make, model and postcode to confirm availability and pricing for your vehicle.

Stage 1 Remapping questions answered

What does a Stage 1 remap do?

It rewrites the factory engine calibration while keeping the standard hardware. On most turbocharged engines that means more torque, a sharper throttle response and smoother pulling through the gears. The exact gain depends on the vehicle, its engine and its mechanical condition.

Does my car need any modifications for Stage 1?

No. Stage 1 is designed for a standard vehicle. It should be in good mechanical health, though, so any existing faults or warning lights are best sorted before the vehicle is tuned.

Is a Stage 1 remap worth it on a diesel?

Turbo diesels usually respond well, because fuelling and boost are both things a remap can adjust. The difference is mostly felt as extra low-down and mid-range torque: pulling away, overtaking and towing.

How long does a Stage 1 remap take?

It varies by vehicle. Many ECUs can be read and written through the diagnostic port, while some have to be accessed directly, which takes longer. Send the registration, make, model and engine and you will be told what to expect for that vehicle.
